Program Details
The Birth Keepers BIPOC Doula Pilot Program is a two-year training and mentorship program. It is designed to establish a sustainable doula initiative that not only enhances the birthing experience but also addresses health disparities within our community. Through comprehensive perinatal care and support, our program aims to produce doulas who are not just skilled but culturally attuned and ready to make a significant difference in maternal health.
Our training program starts THIS July and runs for 10 weeks. You will meet twice a week, once in person and once virtually.

Identify as BIPOC
Interest in Doula Work
Clark County Resident
Interested in running a home based business
Willingness to Serve Communities
Commit to attending Scheduled training sessions
Be available for all 20 training dates
Have a support network in place
Manage time effectively

Awarded individuals Will receive:
Paid Doula Training including all necessary books and materials
Paid Mentorship
Doula Certification though the State of Washington
Business startup guidance and support around Medical Billing
Monthly check-ins for the following year

10 Week Mentorship
A support system for you
Mentorship support after training and during licensure process
Mentor assists with counseling, prenatal, and postpartum visits
Phone/text support provided during births
Debriefing sessions for skill development
Duration of mentorship varies (potentially 3 months or longer) based on doula's progress in obtaining births
Program Timeline
For you to know
Applicants will receive confirmation of their application and potential awards on June 7th.
Candidate announcements will be made, and orientation is scheduled for June 17th.
Training sessions will be held from July 9th to September 17th, with mentorship involving three births.
